There will definitely be a bunch of people that move over to GW2 when it comes out, and many may very well stop playing GW1 all together. Of course, at some point, the GW1 servers will be taken down as well.
My only issue is that many of the features of GW1, which I particularly enjoy, such as being able to form a party w/ heroes and henchmen, will not be present in the same way as it is now, which will see me still playing GW1 if it is still running. Still, it's a little early to be tolling the bells of GW1's demise... |

I think that GW1 go down fast after the release from GW2, some people are stopping now already with GW1 to come back when GW2 comes out, some of those have r6 KoaBD, for others it's just time to play something else. :P

I don't think that GW will die quickly, if at all. My guess is that it'll become a world filled with grinders after titles to transfer to their GW2 characters via the HoM. The more useful the transferred stuff from the HoM is, the more people will keep playing GW1. And of course, newcomers to the game universe in GW2 will see the extra stuff that GW1 players have transferred over and will want to buy GW1 as well so they can get the extra cool stuff too.
Quite an ingenious marketing strategy on ANet's part, I think. |

No point in thinking about something so far away.
Plus people have discussed it many times. ====closed====
